Huntington celebrates record enrollment
Huntington University
has a record enrollment of 1,153 students for the fall semester of
the 2007-2008 school year. The Christian liberal arts college
enrolled a record 923 undergraduate students. The incoming class of
freshmen, transfers and readmitted students is the largest on record
with 299 students. After celebrating its new satellite location in
Wabash on Sept. 5, the EXCEL Program for Adults achieved a record
enrollment of 141 students. “Enrollment will continue to be a major
focus of our entire campus community,” said Dr. G. Blair Dowden,
president of Huntington University. “Our Strategic Plan sets forth
the ambitious target of 2,000 students by 2016. With our increase to
1,153 students this fall, we are well on our way to achieving our
goal.”

Theatre company to
present 'Glass Menagerie'
The
Huntington University Theatre Company
will present “The Glass Menagerie” by Tennessee Williams at 7:30
p.m. on Sept. 20-21 and at 2 and 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 22 in the Studio
Theatre of the
Merillat Centre for the Arts.
Tickets are $12 for general admission, $10 for students and seniors,
$6 for children 13 and younger, $5 for Huntington University
students, and $9 for Huntington University faculty and staff. For

Clampitt,
Kuster recognized with Peer Awards
Recipients
of the Huntington University Peer Award for
the month of
September are Brad Clampitt and Brent Kuster. Cynthia Buff,
Athletic Department Secretary, passed the Peer Award to Brad
Clampitt. Clampitt is Call Center/computer lab coordinator and has
been with the university for almost a year. Dr. George Killian,
assistant professor of music, passed the Peer Award to Brent Kuster. Kuster
is network/broadcast engineer and
has been with Huntington for eight years.

New
students 'plunge' into volunteer service
New
students at Huntington University plunged into their college
experience by volunteering at several places throughout the
Huntington community on Aug. 25. Service locations for the 2007
Volunteer Plunge included the YMCA, Huntington County Humane
Shelter, Habitat for Humanity, Victory Noll, Helping Paws, Forks of
the Wabash, Riverview Middle School, Huntington Head Start, the
American Red Cross, Kids Kampus, Good Shepherd Church, Boys & Girls
Club, the Dan Quayle Center, Salamonie Reservoir, Salamonie Nature
Center, the home of an elderly woman, Pathfinder Services, Inc.; and
Love, Inc.

Korean artist exhibits in Wilson Gallery
Artist Kwangkyu
Park is holding an exhibition titled “Fish Series” in Huntington
University’s
Robert E. Wilson Gallery
until Oct. 10. The artist reception will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
on Sept. 14 in the lobby area by the gallery. Through “Fish Series,”
Park is displaying approximately 20 works all featuring the artist’s
chosen subject, fish.

Green
joins ERC staff
Joanne (Miller)
Green is the new experiential learning coordinator for the
Enterprise Resource Center. She is working with students to create
experiential learning opportunities such as internships, projects
and job shadows. Green worked in the Student Development Office for
several years in a variety of roles as well as in the Admissions
Office as an admissions counselor. She also has served as an
assistant women’s basketball coach.
