Huntington University Graduate Counseling Program
Clinic
The Graduate Counseling Program
operates a fully functioning counseling clinic near the Huntington
University (HU) campus. The HU Counseling Clinic is located at 479 Campus
Street across from Miller Residence Hall.
Students near the end of their training will conduct individual, couple,
family, and group counseling under close supervision by University faculty.
All sessions are audio and video taped to insure quality supervision and
excellent care to the client. Each student seeing clients in the clinic will
receive weekly individual and group supervision that exceeds state licensure
requirements. All faculty supervisors are trained at the master's level or
beyond, are licensed, and are practicing counselors.
Dr. Jerry E. Davis, Director of the Graduate Counseling Program, acts as
clinical director for the HU Counseling Clinic. Dr. Davis is a Licensed
Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), and Mental Health
Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Indiana. He holds masters and doctoral
degrees in counseling, has 13 years of master's level supervision experience and 25
years of counseling experience. Currently Dr. Davis sees clients at The
Family Care Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
The HU Counseling Clinic will be in operation during the fall, spring, and
summer terms. The Clinic will close during HU semester and summer breaks.
The normal hours of operation will be 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Mondays
through Thursdays. There are no fees charged for services offered at the
Clinic although clients who are able to give a donation are encouraged to do
so. Donations for each session may be as little as $1.00 and should not
exceed $20.00.
