Dr.
Steury teaches in the education department and serves the institution as
Assistant Dean for Faculty Development and as Chair of the Division of
Education, Kinesiology, and Recreation Management. Her teaching load
includes courses in children’s literature, classroom management and
organization, mathematics methods, and field experience supervision.
Prior to coming to Huntington University she taught first through fifth
grades. Her experience includes teaching in both public and private
schools. As Assistant Dean for Faculty Development, Dr. Steury
facilitates the orientation course for new faculty and staff members and
oversees the mentoring program.
One of her interests
is teaching in international schools. Her recent sabbatical included
visits to Vienna International School in Vienna, Austria and to the
Black Forest Academy in Kandern, Germany. While visiting Austria, she
led several professional development seminars for teachers at the Vienna
Christian School. She serves on the Board of RCE, Resourcing Christian
Education, International.
