Dr. Worfel is the newest addition to the education faculty. He recently completed his doctorate in curriculum studies at Indiana University in Bloomington. His minor was educational policy studies. Dr. Worfel earned his Bachelors degree in music education from Central Michigan University and soon after completed a Masters in performance and literature at Eastman School of Music. He completed a Masters in philosophical and sociological foundations of education prior to seeking his doctorate. His teaching experience ranges from Kindergarten to adult including Indiana Wesleyan (Adult and Professional Studies), Indiana University, and nineteen years in public school. In addition to teaching he was founder and executive director of Homes In Service Ministries, a foster care program for hard-to-place teenagers located in Rochester, N.Y. His research interests include rural education and pre-service teacher education. He plays the trombone professionally, skis, canoes, and backpacks. He has been married to Kristie, who is a professional mime, for more than thirty years. Together they have two grown children Philip and Rebekah, a son-in-law Steve, and granddaughter Emily, the newest addition to the family. Email
