Kappa Delta Pi

Kappa Delta Picandle.jpg (153300 bytes)Kappa Delta Pi is an International Honor Society for Educators which was founded in 1911 and now has 60,000 members worldwide.

Kappa Delta Pi  has now chartered a chapter at Huntington University.  The initiation ceremony took place on Monday, May 1, 2000  in the fellowship hall of College Park Church.  Dr. Michael Wolfe, Executive Director of Kappa Delta Pi presented President Blair Dowden with Huntington University’s membership charter.

Kappa delta Pi4.jpg (138031 bytes)Induction into Kappa Delta Pi requires that an education student be a sophomore, junior or senior, have achieved at least a 3.3 cumulative grade point average, and have “exhibited the ideals of scholarship, high personal standards, and promise in teaching and allied professions.” 

Similarly, faculty members must exhibit high academic achievement, a commitment to education as a career, and a professional attitude that assures steady growth in the profession.
