3.3.20 Chapter 20: A Sabbath for Teachers

a] Consider the four ‘dimensions of being’: the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. Taking stock of your current context, could you say that all are in equilibrium and that you feel a "sense of well being and wholeness"? If not, what is the source of your discontent?

b] Map out your routine on any typical day. Is there place in your schedule for "ceasing, resting, embracing and feasting"? How might you develop these aspects, both in terms of practice and as ‘attitudes of the heart’?

c] Of the 18 ‘beliefs and practices’ identified by survey respondents as helping them to avoid burnout, to which do you currently ascribe, and which would you like to develop further? What would this require, in terms of the ‘dimensions’ of your life?

d] Choose at least three of the Recommendations regarding personal beliefs and practices that you would like to develop in your life. For each, identify and implement five strategies that you could pursue to realize these goals.
