Brief Author Biographies:

Dr Robert Herschell
Dean, School of Education
Christian Heritage College 

Robert came to the College in 1988 after 24 years experience in teaching and curriculum development work with the Queensland State Department of Education. His Higher Education studies include a Certificate of Teaching from Kelvin Grove Teachers’ College, a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Geography from the University of Queensland, a Master of Social Science from the University of Queensland, and a Doctor of Philosophy completed in 1997 from the University of New England, New South Wales. The title of Robert’s Ph.D. thesis was ‘Conceptions of Thinking Legally: an interpretative approach’. Robert is actively involved in a range of professional association and educational committees in Queensland such as the Legal Studies Syllabus Committee of the Queensland Board of Senior Secondary School Studies and the Professional Education Committee of the Board of Teacher Registration in Queensland.

Robert has been an active member and lay leader of the Garden City Christian Church for the last 25 years. He is particularly interested in servant leadership, mentoring and the ‘building up’ of the body of Christ (Ephesians 4).

Darren Lloyd
Lecturer, School of Education
Christian Heritage College

Darren joined the College in 1994 after teaching Secondary School in the areas of English and History. Darren’s studies include a Bachelor of Arts and Diploma of Education from the University of Queensland, a Bachelor of Education from Christian Heritage College, and a Master of Education from the University of Southern Queensland, specializing in Education Management.

Darren has been a member of Christian Outreach Centre in Brisbane, the institution that founded Christian Heritage College, for the past twelve years, and is involved in home fellowship leadership.

The Christian Outreach Centre founded Christian Heritage College in 1986 as a Christian alternative in Australian education to the secular university-based teacher-education programs. The School of Education has four fully accredited preservice and four postgraduate teacher education programs including a Master of Education program commenced in 1997.
