Professor Elise Chadwick came to Huntington University having been a missionary in Peru for three years. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Spanish Education from Calvin College in 2003, and then went immediately to work, teaching high school Spanish in Lansing, Mich.

Don Cotton, Huntington University, a Christian college

Adjunct Professor of English

Don Cotton taught middle school and high school English in Huntington County Schools for 40 years, retiring in 2007. He has served as an adjunct professor in the English department since the fall of 2007.

Brigitte Martin, Huntington University, a Christian college

Brigitte Martin
Adjunct Instructor in French

Brigitte Martin has taught French courses at Huntington University since 1999. She holds a Master of Arts in French literature from the University of Texas at Austin. In addition, she earned a master's degree in business and a Bachelor of Arts in business English from La Sorbonne, France.

Professor of English

Del Doughty is Professor of English, Chair of the Division of Humane Studies, and the Self-Study Coordinator for Reaccreditation. He teaches courses in creative writing and world literature and has published a few short collections of poetry.

Dr. W. Todd Martin, Huntington University, a Christian college

Dr. Todd Martin
Professor of English

Dr. Todd Martin earned his Ph.D. from Baylor University in 1998. His primary areas of interest are 20th century British and American literature, though he also dabbles in Science Fiction. He has presented his research at numerous academic conferences and has published articles on such varied authors as John Barth, E. E. Cummings, Clyde Edgerton, Julia Alvarez, and Edwidge Danticat.

Dr. H. Jack Heller, Huntington University, a Christian college

Dr. Jack Heller
Assistant Professor of English

Dr. Jack Heller received his Ph.D. in English from Louisiana State University in August 1997. His primary research interests include Renaissance drama, Shakespeare, other 16th and 17th century literature, religious studies, and African American literature.

Dr. Linda Urshel
Professor of English

Dr. Linda Urschel serves as the chair of the Department of English and Modern Languages. She is a member of the National Council of Teachers of English, the American Popular Culture Association of the South, the College English Association and the Indiana College English Association for which she serves as President.
