ERC BUSINESS PROFILE: OUR SUNDAY VISITOR When Catholic publisher Our Sunday Visitor needed someone to fill in for an employee on maternity leave, the company looked no further than Huntington University’s Enterprise Resource Center. Rather than hiring a temporary employee to fill in for Tiffanney Drummond, marketing manager Julie Kenny chose to provide an internship for HU student Lora Bulla (’05). “The benefit of bringing in an intern from Huntington was having a well-educated young adult come in with an eagerness to learn,” Drummond said. “Our intern was able to ‘hit the ground running’ and provided excellent new ideas.” Bulla, a business management major, gained valuable marketing experience while Our Sunday Visitor gained peace of mind and a fresh perspective. “Lora and Tiffanney worked well together and made concerted efforts to make a smooth transition when Tiffanney left and when she returned,” Kenny said. Kenny’s positive first experience with the ERC will likely not be her last. “If the opportunity arises in the future, I would definitely consider using another HU student,” she said. Our Sunday Visitor publishes a weekly national newspaper, books, magazines, bulletin inserts, and pamphlets, and supplies offering envelopes.
