Breakfast Series

The Huntington University Foundation hosts a monthly breakfast meeting, open to all who are interested in learning about current issues and the people and programs of Huntington University. Breakfast meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month, September through May, at the Habecker Dining Commons. The breakfasts begin at 7:45 am and conclude by 9 am. The cost of our breakfast is $6.00. First time attendees eat free! Free breakfasts are provided courtesy of Chris and Janelle Love of Bailey-Love Mortuary
 

In addition to the program, Dr. G Blair Dowden provides his monthly President's Update on University happenings and introduces a local student who has received a Huntington County Grant through the Huntington University Foundation.

September 12
	Nursing program update and new faculty introductions The first breakfast of the Huntington University Foundation’s 2007-2008 Breakfast Series will feature introductions of new faculty and an update about the new nursing program. Following the presentation, Margaret Winter, director of nursing, will lead a tour of Department of Nursing in the lower level of the Science Hall. Details >>

October 10
	Economic Development Mark Wickersham, Huntington University Alumnus and Northeast Regional Office Director of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, will report on the state’s efforts for economic development in the area.

November 14
	Huntington University Men’s Basketball Just a few games into the new season, Coach Steve Platt will give insight to the 2007-2008 Foresters. Now in his 14th season, Coach Platt has led the Foresters to five Mid-Central Conference Championships and seven NAIA National Tournament appearances.

December 12
	HU Theatre Company Christmas Presentation Members of the Huntington University Theatre Company will help get you into the Christmas spirit with acts from holiday performances!   Gift of the Magi December 2006 Foundation Breakfast

January 9
	2008 Economic Forecast Jim O’Donnell’s annual economic prognostication has become a Breakfast Series favorite! Hear Jim’s thoughts on what happened in 2007 and how it will impact the new economic year. O’Donnell serves as Associate Professor of Business and Executive-in-Residence at Huntington University.

February 13
	Leadership Development Back by popular demand! Ed Vessels, President of HiValu Leadership Development Services, will talk about Discovering Next Generation’s Leaders.

March 12
	Education Report Huntington County Community Schools Superintendent Tracey Shafer and Huntington University Education Department Chairperson Dr. Terrell Peace will describe how the local schools and University work together to serve the education needs of Huntington County.

April 9
	Legislative Focus State Representative Dan Leonard and Senator Gary Dillon will discuss the recently completed session of the Indiana General Assembly and the impact it will have.

May 14
	State of the University Report Dr. G. Blair Dowden, President of Huntington University, will report on accomplishments from the 2007-2008 academic year and look ahead to the goals for the future.
