Application Process

As you begin to think about studying abroad

1.       Contact the Office of Off-Campus and International Studies and find out what programs are available that would suit your major, your interests, and your academic profile. Get started here.

2.       Visit your academic advisor and discuss your options.

3.       Inform the Office of Off-Campus and International Studies that you are planning to study abroad.

4.       Obtain the Huntington University Off-Campus Study Application and Checklist.

Participants are determined based on overall GPA, class status (Sr., Jr., etc.), contribution to major, and length of documented interest.  Click here for a copy of the eligibility grid.

Your HU application must have signatures from your advisor, the Financial Aid office, and the Business Office before it can be signed by the Registrar and the Dean.

5.       After your Off-Campus Study Application has all the necessary signatures, return it to the OCIS office (you may slide it under the door outside of work hours).

6.       Once you have been cleared by the director of OCIS, complete the application for your chosen program (you can obtain this through the OCIS office or online.)

The completion of the application for your particular program may require any or all of the following: references, an official transcript, an application fee.

After you are accepted into the program:

7.       Send a copy of your acceptance letter to the Off-Campus/International Studies office, the Financial Aid office, and the Business office.

8.       Register for Off-Campus study; contact the Registrar for the appropriate procedures: Sarah Harvey, sharvey@huntington.edu

9.       Secure a Passport & International Student ID. You may pick up an application at the local courthouse.

10.   Attain necessary immunizations, including regular vaccinations and immunizations specific to your country.  Review this document for more information about immunizations.
