LifeSpring Counseling Center is a fully functioning clinic operated by the Graduate Counseling Program at Huntington University. Approximately 25 minutes from Downtown Fort Wayne, LifeSpring is located across from the HU campus at 479 Campus Street (near Miller Residence Hall).
Students near the end of their training conduct individual, couple, family, and group counseling under supervision by university faculty. All sessions are audio and videotaped to insure quality supervision and excellent care to the client. Each student seeing clients in the clinic receives weekly individual and group supervision that exceeds state licensure requirements. All faculty supervisors are trained at the master's level or beyond, are licensed, and are practicing counselors.
Dr. Jerry E. Davis, Director of the Graduate Counseling Program, acts as clinical director for LifeSpring Counseling Center. Dr. Davis is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), and Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Indiana. He holds master's and doctoral degrees in counseling, has more than 15 years of master's level supervision experience and more than 25 years of counseling experience. Dr. Davis sees clients through Grace & Truth Counseling Services in Huntington, Ind., his private practice.
LifeSpring Counseling Center is in operation during the fall, spring, and summer terms and closes during Huntington University semester and summer breaks. The normal hours of operation are 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. There are no fees charged for services offered, although clients able to give a donation are encouraged to do so.
