Graduate Counseling Program
The cost for the Graduate Counseling Program is $466 per credit hour for the 2012-2013 academic year. Both full and half-time students are eligible for student loans. Students enrolled in at least six hours (two courses) each semester can defer repayment of student loans.
Graduate counseling program applicants planning to enroll as full-time students (9 credit hours) may apply for assistantship grants equal to one-half of tuition.* Positions require 15 hours per week to be served in one of the following departments: Residence Life, Student Success, Graduate Admissions, Learning Services, or Campus Ministries /Volunteer Services. Because assistantships operate on two-year rotations, multiple positions will be available each year. Qualifying students may apply for all open positions but can only serve in one assistantship. This is a competitive program – students are selected through a process that includes an application and a formal interview.
To apply for any of the assistantships, please fill out an application and include a résumé and cover letter for the position to which you are applying. If you wish to apply for multiple assistantships, please submit one application and one résumé with individual cover letters specifically addressing each position (one cover letter for each position for which you are applying). Please submit all of your materials together by June 1.
* The Meadows/Miller Resident Director position operates on a different compensation structure than the other assistantship positions. Please see the job description for more information.
The graduate counseling program has a competitive scholarship program for new and current students who have served in their churches and/or communities. Please complete and submit the scholarship form by June 1 to be considered for these awards.
The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation sponsors an annual national scholarship competition and accepts nominations for its Graduate Scholarship Program. This is one of the largest and most competitive scholarship programs in the country. Visit the foundation's website or call 800.498.6478 for more information. Note: These scholarships are only available to those who received scholarships from the foundation as undergraduate students.
