Students enjoy the unique privilege of being part of a mentoring team for at least four semesters of their degree program. In cooperation with the Director of Mentoring, students choose a primary mentor and a lay mentor to help them work toward self-directed learning goals for three of the semesters. In consultation with their faculty advisor, students strive to work on those areas of life and ministry that are often ignored in other academic programs. In this experience, students learn the lifelong discipline of relational accountability that will foster their continued growth and spiritual health. The final semester, students mentor another individual in the areas of spiritual formation and career growth. Not intended to be an additional academic burden, the course is designed to provide a proper emphasis to the role of mentoring in the life of an active, growing Christian. Four semesters of Ministry Mentor are required for
graduation. Students will
receive two credit hours for the first semester and zero credits for each
subsequent semester registered. An
additional course fee of $100.00
will be assessed each semester after the first that the student is
enrolled in the course. The
fee will cover the supervisory expenses and help offset the cost of books
and videos for the primary and lay mentor.
