Dr. Helen Free to speak in Hiner Hall

HUNTINGTON, IN – On Tuesday, May 7, 2002, the Northeastern Indiana Section of the American Chemical Society will host Dr. Helen Free, a long-time employee of Miles Inc. Dr. Free will give her presentation at 7:30 p.m., in Hiner Hall, located at the new Science Hall on the campus of Huntington College. The presentation is free and open to the public.

Dr. Free invented the first "dip-and-read" tests that allow diabetics to monitor their blood glucose levels at home. Dr. Free’s career includes wide experience in laboratory work, management, growth and development, manufacturing, and marketing. Her main interests include the field of clinical chemistry and medical devices and management in the health care area. The title of her talk will be “Chemistry: Contributions to the Quality of Life.”
