
Lambda Pi Eta Inducts Five New Members

RELEASE March 20, 2002 The meaning behind the name Lambda Pi Eta represents what Aristotle described in his book, Rhetoric, as the three ingredients of persuasion: Logos (Lambda) meaning logic, Pathos (Pi) relating to emotion, and Ethos (Eta) defined as character credibility and ethics. The goals of Lambda Pi Eta are to recognize, foster, and reward outstanding scholastic achievement, stimulate interest in the field of communication, promote and encourage professional development among communication majors, provide an opportunity to discuss and exchange ideas about the field, establish and maintain close relationships and understanding between faculty and students, and explore options for further graduate studies. The five new members inducted include:
Dr. Mike Rowley, Assistant Professor of Communication is the current faculty advisor for the Lambda Omega Chapter at Huntington. He says, “We are proud of our newest members and we look forward to growing not only our organization, but also our influence here on the HC campus.” Communication students at Huntington choose from three professional majors designed to provide a foundation for careers in media communication, oral communication or theatre. Concentrations are offered in broadcasting, journalism, public relations, theatre performance and theatre design and technology. # # # Huntington
