Kendall,
Luckett receive Athlete of the Week honors

HUNTINGTON, IN—
The Huntington College athletic department announced its Athletes of
the Week for the week of October 21 – 27, 2002.
Women’s volleyball
sophomore Jessica Kendall and
men’s cross country sophomore Ross Luckett earned the honors for their
excellent efforts during the week’s competitions.
Kendall,
an environmental science major from
Greensburg, Ind. (South Decatur High School), displayed consistent power
at the net, averaging 11.8 kills and 5 blocks per game in each of the
Forester’s four games throughout the week. In Tuesday’s win over
Taylor-Fort Wayne, Kendall tallied seven kills
and a team-high seven blocks. She followed up that performance on
Wednesday with 14 kills and four blocks against Goshen. Over the weekend,
Kendall added a team-high 14 kills and four blocks against Marian and 12
kills and five blocks versus Lindsey Wilson. The Forester’s record stands
at 12-18.
Luckett,
a business management major from
Westerville, Ohio (Worthington Christian School), helped led the Foresters
to a third-place finish at the
Mid-Central Conference Championships on Saturday in Mishawaka, Ind.
Luckett stepped up for the team, running in the no. 2 spot for the first
time this season and breaking his season best time by just over one
minute. His time of 26:27 over the course of the 8K race placed him 14th
overall. Luckett is also a member of the Forester track and field team.
