Athlete
of the Week honors go to Allen, Hill

HUNTINGTON, IN—
The Huntington College athletic
department announced its Athletes of the Week for the
week of November 18 – 23, 2002.
Women’s basketball junior Lane Allen and
men’s basketball senior Adam Hill earned the honors for their
excellent efforts during the week’s competitions.
Allen, a Chemistry major from Richmond,
Ind. (Centerville High School),
helped lead the Forester basketball squad to a 2-0 record for the week. In
Tuesday’s 68-60 victory over Tri-State, Allen shot a perfect 7-7 from the
field and 1-2 from the line for 15 points. She also brought down 13
rebounds and had two steals. On Saturday, she again finished with 15
points, this time going 6-7 from the field and 3-3 from the line. Adding
to her stats, she blocked two shots, grabbed 12 caroms and stole two balls
in the 88-48 routing of Bluffton. The Lady Foresters are now 6-2 on the
season.
Hill, a business management major from
Parker City,
Ind. (Wapahani High School), scored 55
points in three games and was named to the Huntington College/Ness
Brothers Hall of Fame Classic All-Tournament team while helping to
continue the Foresters’ unbeaten streak. In Tuesday’s 78-74 victory over
Indiana Tech, Hill scored 18 points on 6-11 shooting, tallied nine assists
and pulled down eight rebounds. In Friday’s tournament game, Hill was a
perfect 5-5 from the field, 3-3 from behind the arc and 2-2 from the line
for a total of 15 points. In Saturday’s championship game, he scored 22
points to bring the Foresters to victory. Hill is currently the leading
scorer for the team, averaging 17.1 points per game over eight games.
