HUNTINGTON, IN— The Huntington College athletic department
announced its
Athletes of the Week for the week of Sept. 9 - 16, 2002. Women’s cross
country junior Jenny Cook and men’s soccer junior Marc Cameron earned
the honors for their excellent efforts during the week’s competitions.
Cook,
an elementary education major from Gregory, Mich. (Fowlerville High
School), led the No. 24 women’s cross country team to a fourth-place
finish at Cedarville’s Friendship Invitational over the weekend. Cook
placed second in the 5k race, finishing in 18:43.18, fifteen seconds
behind the winner from Cedarville. As a team, the women finished behind
No. 1 Cedarville, Wright State and Northern Kentucky. Cook is also an NAIA
All-American track and field runner for the Foresters and a Dean’s List
honoree. Between track and cross country, she has participated in the NAIA
National Championships a total of three times.
Cameron,
a business management major from London, England (St. Michael’s High
School), was a key member to the men’s soccer 1-0 victory over Indiana

minute of overtime to give the Foresters a 1-0 advantage over Indiana
Tech. The goal snapped a three-game losing streak and improves the team to
