Michaud,
Wutke featured in Concerto Concert

HUNTINGTON, IN— The third annual Concerto Winners Concert will feature
four winners of the Huntington College Concerto Competition, which was
held last October. Two Huntington College students, along with two high
school students, will perform in the Friday, April 25 concert at 7 p.m.,
in the Merillat Centre for the Arts main auditorium.
Jay
Michaud, a senior computer science major from
Clarksville,
Mich. (Lakewood High School),
will perform Piano Concerto No. 5 in E flat, Op. 73 at the Concerto
Winners Concert. Michaud is highly active in the music department and is a
member of the concert
choir. He is a Dean’s List honoree and has been
involved in various theatre productions including Side Show, The
Second Shepherd’s Play, My Emperor’s New Clothes, Good News
and A Christmas Carol.
Drew
Wutke, a junior choral education major from Girard, Kansas (Girard
High School), will perform Piano
Concerto No. 2 in F, Op. 102 on April 25. Wutke
is also involved in the music and theatre departments, participating in
concert choir and various theatre groups. He is a Dean’s List honoree and
has been involved in the theatre productions of The Miser, Into
the Woods, Mr. Roberts and Side Show.
Rounding out the performances in the
Concerto Winners Concert will be The
Hebrides Overture, Op. 26
by the Huntington College
Orchestra, Piano Concerto in A minor, Op. 16
by Homestead High School student Jason Leung and Violin Concerto No. 1
in G minor, Op. 26 by local high school student Caleb Mossburg.
