Fultz, Tropf earn Athlete of Week honors
FOR RELEASE October 6, 2003 Kara Fultz, a biology – pre-med major from Angola, Ind. (Angola High School), netted two goals for the women’s soccer team in its 8-0 rout of Davenport University on Saturday. Fultz also scored the Foresters’ lone goal in the 2-1 loss at Manchester College on Wednesday. Fultz is the leading netter for the Foresters this season, kicking in six of the Foresters’ 14 goals in 11 games. HC will next host Goshen College at 4 p.m., on October 8.
Jay Tropf, a recreation management major
from Upland, Ind. (Eastbrook High School), helped lead the team to a
third-place finish at the Manchester College Invitational with a t4eam
score of 315. He and teammate Micah Beckwith both scored 76 to tie for
sixth overall. Tropf proved consistent, scoring a 38 on both the front and
back nine. He hit six out of 13 fairways and nine out of 18 greens. The Huntington College Foresters compete in 14 intercollegiate sports for men and women and hold membership in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). In the past seven years, Huntington has produced 45 NAIA All-American honors and 71 All-American Scholar Athlete honors.
