Verba garners Athlete of the Week honors

HUNTINGTON , IN — The Huntington College athletic department announced its Athlete of the Week for the week of December 8-14, 2003 . Men’s basketball sophomore Chase Verba earned the honors for his outstanding efforts during the week.

Chase Verba, a sophomore basketball player from Angola , Indiana ( Angola High School ), helped lead the Foresters to a 79-70 win over the University of St. Francis of Joliet , Illinois this past week.  Verba scored 18 points on 5-7 shooting from the field and went 8-11 from the line.  He also grabbed six rebounds and recorded six steals in the game.  The Foresters are now 11-3 on the season and next play host to Cedarville University on Saturday, December 20 at 3:00 p.m.

The Huntington College Foresters compete in 14 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past seven years, Huntington has produced 45 NAIA All-American honors and 71 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
