Forester Athletes of the Week are Fillman, St. Louis

HUNTINGTON, IN— The Huntington College athletic department announced its Athletes of the Week for the week of March 29 – April 4, 2004. Women’s track freshman Brittany Fillman and men’s track sophomore David St. Louis earned the honors for their excellent efforts during the week’s competitions.

Brittany Fillman

Brittany Fillman, a freshman from Markle, Ind. (Norwell High School), helped lead the Foresters to a sixth-place finish at the Mt. Laurel Relays in Sewanee, Tenn., on Saturday. Fillman claimed the team’s highest finish in the meet with her second place in the 400 meter race. Her time of 1:00.44 was a personal best in her young Forester career. Fillman also anchored Huntington’s sprint medley relay that finished first among nine scoring teams with a time of 1:52.15 and ran a leg in the 4x100 relay that placed fifth. The Foresters will next host Bethel College in a dual meet on Thursday, April 8, at 3:00 p.m.

David St. Louis

David St. Louis, a mathematics education major from Dewitt, Mich. (Owosso High School), led the Forester track team to a third place finish at the Mt. Laurel Relays in Sewanee, Tenn., on Saturday. St. Louis won the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 10:00.65. Centre College won the 13-team event with a team score of 121, followed by Clayton State University with 70 and Huntington with 63. The Foresters will next host Bethel College in a dual meet on Thursday, April 8 at 3:00 p.m.
