Urschel presents at pop culture convention FOR RELEASE April 30, 2004 HUNTINGTON, IN—Dr. Linda Urschel, professor of English at Huntington College, presented, “Victims and Activists: The Captivity Narratives of Mary Rowlandson and Harriet Jacobs,” at the annual joint convention of the Popular Culture Association and the American Culture Association in San Antonio, Texas, during the first week of April, 2004. Urschel received her Ph.D. in English from Ball State University. She specializes in developmental writing, and has participated in professional meetings and published several articles. She is very active in her church, Central Christian, where she serves as Elder, teaches the older adult Sunday School class, and sings in the choir.
