Alpha Chi will induct fourteen new members
Honor Society is Colleges highest honorHUNTINGTON, IN NOV. 5, 1997-- Huntington Colleges chapter of the Alpha Chi National College Honor Scholarship Society will induct fourteen new members during a special college convocation on Friday, November 7 at 11:00 a.m. in the Merillat Centre for the Arts auditorium.
Dr. Gerald Smith, vice president and dean, will present the invocation, while Dr. G. Blair Dowden, president of the College, will offer special welcoming remarks. Dr. Paul Michelson, distinguished professor of history and Alpha Chi sponsor, will introduce the ceremony. Huntington Colleges Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Marlene Schleiffer, will provide special music.
Alpha Chi membership is Huntington Colleges highest academic honor. Members are committed to promoting both academic excellence and service on campus.
New Alpha Chi members are:
- Matthew L. Campbell, a junior chemistry major from Worthington, Ohio. He is the son of Gary and Judy Campbell.
- Heather Hirschy, a junior history and business management double major from Huntington, Indiana. She is the daughter of Paul and Barbara Hirschy.
- Kristy L. Kettring, a senior elementary education major from Uniondale, Indiana. She is the daughter of Dale and Judy Kettring.
- Daniel A. King, a senior chemistry education major from Huntington, Indiana. He is the son of Thomas and Janice King.
- Kelly A. Kmucha, a junior English education major from Nicholasville, Kentucky. She is the daughter of Dennis and Barbara Leonard.
- Jamie A. Koogler, a junior accounting and theatre double major from Fort Wayne, Indiana. She is the daughter of Douglas and Sharon Koogler.
- Maria D. Kurtz, a junior English major from Leo, Indiana. She is the daughter of Cal and Sue Kurtz.
- Kimberly A. Norman, a senior psychology major from Van Wert, Ohio. She is the daughter of Dennis and Susan Norman.
- Christine D. Quigley, a senior art education major from Fort Wayne, Indiana. She is the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Quigley.
- Tamar Smith, a junior educational ministries major from Flint, Michigan. She is the daughter of Lester and Linda Smith.
- Kelly J. Steele, a junior Psychology major from Hillsdale, Michigan. She is the daughter of Gordon and Joy Harmon, and Ben Steele.
- Brandy L. Swope, a junior accounting major from North Webster, Indiana. She is the daughter of Rick and Sheila Swope.
- Carolyn Weller, a junior elementary education major from Garrett, Indiana. She is the daughter of Greg and Marcia Weller.
- Kristin E. Wineland, a junior history education major from Columbia City, Indiana. She is the daughter of Don and Eileen Wineland.
