Internationally known opera singer directs college production
Students present Mozart's Marriage of Figaro

HUNTINGTON, IN The Department of Music at Huntington College will present Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro April 16, 17, and 18. The opera will be produced under the direction of internationally acclaimed soprano Winifred Faix Brown, who has recently appeared with the Lyric Opera of Chicago and the Metropolitan Opera.
The production cast includes nine undergraduates and one alumnus. Troy Clark, a 1992 graduate and former admissions counselor at Huntington College, has been performing professionally in Chicago since 1996. Clark's last appearance in an opera at Huntington College was the 1995 production of The Telephone.

Click here for more about the cast and directors...)Mozart's comedic plot twists around a series of relationships between counts, countesses, husbands, wives, and mistresses. The Marriage of Figaro is traditionally set in eighteenth century Seville, but this production has been modernized especially for twentieth century audiences. Called the "most loveable and poignant opera comedy of all time," the Huntington College production of The Marriage of Figaro is sure to delight audiences of all ages.
Performances will be given at the LaFontaine Ballroom at 208 W. State Street, Huntington. Show dates are Thursday, April 16 through Saturday, April 18 at 7:30 p.m. nightly.
