Huntington College welcomes artist-in-residence

HUNTINGTON, IN
C. McNair Wilson will visit Huntington College as guest artist-in-residence during the spring semester. He will serve as instructor of theatre and direct Tartuffe, a comedy by Moliere. Wilson, a San Francisco bay area resident, has worked professionally as an actor, director, teacher, playwright, Disney Imagineer, street performer, public-speaking coach, author, cartoonist, magician and ventriloquist.Performances of Tartuffe will be held at the Merillat Center of the Arts March 4, 5 and 6. All performances start at 8:00 p.m. Tickets go on sale February 17, and cost $8 for adults and $6 for seniors, students and children. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Theatre Department Box Office at 359-4275.
Wilson has traveled in 33 countries performing his two one-man plays, The Fifth Gospel and From Up Here. The Fifth Gospel is a 28-character retelling of the gospel story. He has performed it 1500 times, challenging believers, seekers and skeptics through humor and provocative storytelling. From Up Here is Wilsons newest theatre piece using only an eight-foot ladder and a piece of paper as props. This play gives a first-person account of many of the Bibles characters at times in their lives when they each got a new perspective on life.
Wilson also developed IMAGINU!TYÔ Unlimited, a series of interactive workshops designed to teach creative thinking skills. He has worked with clients ranging from IBM to the Salvation Army, motivating teams to increase their creativity. Wilson has recently produced a 60-minute video based on his IMAGINU!TYÔ seminars.
Theatre is one of many distinctive academic programs available at Huntington College, an independent, four-year, coeducational, Christian college of the liberal arts.
