Auxiliary Breakfast is March 6
FOR RELEASE-- March 1, 1999
HUNTINGTON, INThe Huntington College Auxiliary will hold its Spring Breakfast Saturday, March 6, at 9 a.m., in the Habecker Dining Commons. Community women are invited to hear Susan Smith, a buyer and designer for Smith Furniture, present a program on interior decorating titled "Personalizing Your Home." A short business meeting will also be held.
Smith will offer guidelines for designing a room in order to bring your taste and personality to the decor. Smith thinks that "our homes and the atmosphere we create in them affect how we feel, act, and respond to life." This is why she feels that learning how to use one's personality and special interests as a basis for one's home decorating is so satisfying and important, thus enabling one's home to truly reflect both one's overall style and accommodate one's life's interests. Women are invited to bring one item that they would like to use in their decor. Smith will take the last fifteen minutes of the program to examine those objects and then make suggestions on how they might be used to enhance one's home.
Julie Mireau, a very talented freshman violin major at the College, will provide music for the meeting. The cost of the breakfast, which will be a breakfast buffet, will be $5.00. Reservations are required by Wednesday, March 3, and may be made by calling Shirley Cox (356-1560), Ruth Weber (356-0255), or Barbara Fetters, 672-8333.
The Huntington College Auxiliary has been a vital part of the life of Huntington College since 1903 and is always involved in several projects to benefit the students. The group is currently working to furnish the Hardy Hall lower lounge.
