Local student plans senior recital
FOR RELEASE--March 29, 1999
HUNTINGTON, IN Huntington Colleges Department of Music will present the senior recital of Hersel Cremeans on April 17, 1999, in the Longaker Recital Hall of the Merillat Centre for the Arts. The recital will begin at 5 p.m. The public is cordially invited to attend this free performance.
Cremeans will perform a wide variety of arias, art songs, and German lied, including "Von ewiger Liebe" (Brahms); "Auf dem gruenen balkon" (Wolff); "Erlkonig" (Schubert); "Largo al factotum della cita" (Rossini); "Humbled with fear", and "His scepter is the rod of righteousness" (Handel); "My life's delight", "By a fountain side", and "Fair house of joy" (Quilter); and "When I think upon the maidens" (Head).
Cremeans resides in Huntington, Indiana with his wife, Kelly (Steele). Originally from Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, Cremeans plans a career in secondary education as a choral director.
Cremeans has enjoyed a richly varied musical career during his four years at Huntington College. Cremeans has served as both president and assistant to the Huntington College Concert Choir. During his freshmen and sophomore years, he traveled with the Colleges musical ministry team, One Voice. He also performed with the improv comedy group, Live Bait. He was cast in Huntington College Theatres 1996 production of Godspell. Last spring, he played the title role of Figaro in Mozart's Marriage of Figaro.
