DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW |
Huntington University offers a broad undergraduate program of study in history
with degrees designed to prepare the students for graduate work in history
and other fields in the humanities; for advanced work in law, political
science, and other social sciences; for teaching history and social studies
at the middle school and high school level; and for entry level positions in
business and government. As a history student, you will learn both content
and process. Our department places a strong emphasis on three things: studying history as a means of improving your cultural literacy; striving to understand your own world view and that of others; and acquiring a mastery of critical historical methodology that is, understanding how historians work. |
