Majors & Programs

Huntington University offers a broad undergraduate program of study in history with degrees designed to prepare the students for graduate work in history and other fields in the humanities; for advanced work in law, political science, and other social sciences; for teaching history and social studies at the middle school and high school level; and for entry level positions in business and government. Four tracks are offered through the History Department:

Off-Campus Programs

In addition to the stimulating teaching offered in the department, history students may also participate in several off-campus learning opportunities. The Council for Christian Colleges and Universities, for example, offers semester programs in Washington DC, Costa Rica, England, China, Russia, and Egypt. Additionally, students have also taken internships with local judges, the state legislature, political campaigns, and the like. Of course, independent study options are also available.
