Big Brothers/ Big Sisters Lunch Buddies-
We've partnered with BB/BS and several local schools to offer this program. After you go through the BB/BS application process you will be paired with an elementary student during the lunch hour at his/her school--you meet one hour a week.

Bingo Buddies
This program gives you a chance to visit and play Bingo with elderly residents at Miller's Merry Manor. Come out, have a lot of fun, and maybe get a bingo yourself!

Kid's Club
Huntington Kid's Club is an outreach program to unchurched 8-12 year olds in the Huntington Community. College students and adults from the community build relationship with the kids by meeting in small groups on Monday nights and an activity outside the club once a month.

Love Church
Consider inner-city ministry in Ft. Wayne...Love church has a Thursday night children's program that needs volunteers to spend time with inner-city kids.

Upward Basketball/Soccer
Interested in serving as a coach or assistant coach for kids who participate in College Park Church's Upward Program? This 8 week program is for k-8th grade (boys and girls) and begins in January. Games are on Saturdays and this commitment also involves an hour practice each week. Coaches are asked to lead a short devotional (as provided by College Park) at each practice. Opportunities to work the concession stand on Saturdays are also available.

Open Door
Help
deliver meals to elderly shut-ins and families in need! Several Sundays each semester we help deliver hot meals to over 150 individuals in the community as organized by St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Power House
The Power House in New Haven seeks to change the lives of young people permanently by providing a safe, drug-free environment for youth. They are committed to getting youth off the streets to provide positive alternatives to gangs, violence and drug usage. We specifically send volunteers for the Friday Night Glo (their dance club) program. Volunteers are needed two Fridays a month from 8:00 PM to Midnight to help oversee the youth while they enjoy dancing, food, and fun.

Volunteer 911
This program responds to the various calls that the JMC gets from local residents and/or organizations that are in need of immediate assistance. Volunteers will be immediately rallied to the respond to the specific need. Services range from raking leaves to babysitting to shoveling snow to running errands for the elderly, etc.

Youth for Christ
Huntington County has an amazing YFC program. Consider volunteering at the local high school or one of the junior high schools to share the Gospel to kids who need to see Jesus in someone.

Adult Literacy
The Adult Literacy Program provides opportunities for adults in need of literacy skills and refresher basics in reading, writing, and math. The adult learner will meet one-on-one with the volunteer tutor to maintain individual help.

Habitat for Humanity
In its fifth year, Habitat is looking forward to a great year. If you'd like to be involved but aren't sure you're ready for a weekly commitment, be a volunteer who helps out periodically throughout the year by participating on a Saturday or weekend house building trip. No construction skills are needed, just a positive attitude and a willingness to serve others.

Adopt a Grandparent
This program integrates student involvement through five local nursing homes: Norwood Nursing Center, LaFontaine Center, The Tipton House, The Heritage and Hickory Creek. It also gives the students an opportunity to spend time with an elderly man or woman who is lonely for companionship. This could be either taking them on a walk outside, playing a game with them, or watching television with them.
