Oaister There are a number of little-known and little-used, very valuable sites deeply imbedded within the Internet and not popularly known. The University of Michigan developed their own search engine to find these sites. Oaister's stated "goal is to create a collection of freely available, difficult-to-access, academically oriented digital resources that are easily searchable by anyone." Presently they have approximately 3,164,254 records from 282 institutions (May 11, 2004).
