Adjunct Faculty (Bell Choir,
Applied Piano, Applied Organ, Accompanying)
Darlene Burkett received her BA degree in Organ Performance from Huntington College in 1978. Mrs. Burkett has been a church pianist and organist for over 35 years and has taught private piano and organ from 1978 to the present. She has been accompanist for the Northeastern Indiana Opera Association, the Huntington College Concert Choir, Huntington College vocal and instrumental student recitals as well as various community ensembles. She has served as Keyboard Workshop Leader at the Church Music Seminar of the Ontario Conference of the United Brethren Church of Canada. Mrs. Burkett was introduced to Handbells in 1981 at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary's School of Church Music. She has led Handbell Choirs in Kentucky as well as Indiana and currently directs the Huntington University Handbell Choir as well as the College Park United Brethren Church Handbell Choir. She also serves as Northeast Indiana District Representative for Area V of the AGEHR (American Guild of English Handbell Ringers) and has been a workshop leader for the Fort Wayne, Indiana "Spring Ring" handbell festival as well as other local church festivals.
