Eric Clancy
Adjunct Faculty (Jazz Ensemble)

Eric Clancy started out in music as a mostly self-taught pianist. Later, he received instruction in harmony and composition from George Rickton, a student of Allan Reuss who played with Benny Goodman and Duke Ellington. He spends a lot of his time performing publicly/privately in the Fort Wayne, South Bend and Indianapolis areas, playing jazz, blues, country, and pop with various bands and singers and has been involved in several recording projects which have received local and regional popularity. Mr. Clancy has made several recordings and has his own group called the Eric Clancy Trio. The trio performs jazz standards and some original music with a mixture of harmonies and rhythms taken from a variety of swing, baroque, near-eastern, bop, and post-bop idioms.
