Janet Mackay-Galbraith holds a BME from Indiana University and a MM in Flute Performance from Northwestern University. She has experiences in music as a performer, educator and administrator. She is an active freelance musician and teacher in the Midwest, and frequently performs throughout Indiana and in the Chicago area while also managing the performing arts series at Fermilab in Batavia, Illinois. She was the solo flutist for several years for a touring production of Amahl and the Night Visitors. She was a faculty member of the De Paul University Community Music program for ten years, and was recently appointed to the Adjunct Music Faculty of Grace College. She served for two years as program chair for the Chicago Flute Club, creating the Flute Fair, an all day event filled with masterclasses, performances and workshops.
