Spedden
releases classical piano CD
FOR RELEASE December
18, 2002
Huntington, Ind.— Dr.
Patricia
Spedden,
Professor of Music and Director of Piano Studies and Theory at Huntington
College, has released a classical piano CD, In the Shelter of Your
Presence. The arrangements in the collection combine a praise song
with a more traditional hymn, both in the timeless setting of classical
piano work.
The CD includes two
sets of the nine arrangements, which Spedden arranged and performed. The
first set is solo piano while the second set is solo piano enhanced with
the sounds of ocean surf.
“It is my desire that
this continuum of worship music will offer the listener comfort, hope, and
inspiration,” said Spedden.
The tracks on Spedden’s
CD include:
-
He Giveth More Grace
/ Cares Chorus (with Saint-Saëns’ The Swan)
-
You Are My
Hiding Place
(with Chopin’s Mazurka in A Minor, Op. 17, No. 4)
-

Major)
-

Heavenly Father / When He Cometh (based on a Polish Christmas carol,
Lullaby, Jesus, from Chopin’s Scherzo No. 1 in B Minor, Op. 20)
-
I Am Bound for the
Promised Land / Amazing Grace (with Beethoven’s Sonata No. 14 in C#
Minor [“Moonlight”])

Bach)
