Martin, Yoder earn Forester Athlete of the Week honors
FOR RELEASE January 26, 2004 Jessah Martin, a psychology major from Roanoke, Ind. (Bellmont High School), helped lead the Foresters to a 2-0 record for the week. Martin scored a game-high 19 points, including 7-8 from the charity stripe, and added two assists and three steals in Huntington’s 64-57 win over Grace College on Wednesday. On Saturday, Martin had 17 points and four assists in the Foresters 68-58 upset win over NAIA Division II 25th-ranked Taylor University. The Foresters are now 13-7 on the season and tied for first place in the Mid-Central Conference with a 4-2 record. The women next travel to Marion to take on the Indiana Wesleyan University Wildcats on Wednesday, January 28, at 7:00 p.m. Derek Yoder, a psychology major from Shipshewana, Ind. (Westview High School), averaged 22 points per game, went 14-19 from the field, and 9-12 from three-point range to lead the Foresters to a 1-1 week. In Tuesday’s 82-66 win over Grace College, Yoder scored 20 points on 8-10 shooting, including 4-4 from behind the arc, and on Saturday, he continued his hot streak going 6-9 from the field and 5-8 from downtown to tie his career high of 24 points in the Foresters’ 81-68 loss to Taylor University. The Foresters are now 17-5 on the season and 4-2 in conference play. They next host Indiana Wesleyan University on Tuesday, January 27, at 7:00 p.m. The Huntington College
