Art students earn awards at Student Art Exhibit
FOR RELEASE April 8, 2004 Jennifer Longhurst, a junior art education major from London, England, received the “Wilson Purchase Award” for her woodcut piece, “French Village.” The piece will now become property of the Huntington College Wilson Gallery. “Best of Show” was awarded to Scott Cooper, a senior fine arts major from Huntington, Ind., for his oil painting, “Railroad Engineer.” Rachel Rhine, a junior graphic design major from Burlington, Ind., won first place overall with her photography, “Grasp of Light,” Second place overall went to Nicole Woods, a junior fine arts major from Greenville, Ohio, for her ceramic tile sculpture, “Keratinized Clay.” Lynsi Griffin, a sophomore graphic design major from Marion, Ind., won third place with her photography, “Security.” The following students earned Outstanding Achievement in specific divisions:
The exhibit will be on display until April 17, 2004 in the Robert E. Wilson Gallery located in the Merillat Centre for the Arts at Huntington College.
