HUNTINGTON, IN— The Huntington College Athletics Department announced its Athletes of the Week for the week of December 27, 2004-January 2, 2005. Women’s basketball junior Betsey Bean and men’s basketball sophomore Alex Kock earned the honors for their outstanding efforts during the week’s competitions.

Alex Kock, a physical education and health major from Auburn, Ind. (DeKalb High School), scored a career-high 35 points in the Foresters’ 84-81 double overtime upset win over NAIA Division II 3rd-ranked Cedarville University.  Kock’s 15 points in the first half helped give Huntington a 38-28 lead at the break, and with 26 seconds left in the second overtime, he scored the Foresters’ final six points, including going 4-4 from the line, to help seal the win.  Through 17 games, Kock leads the team in scoring and rebounding at 18.3 points and 7.8 rebounds per game.  Huntington (12-5) will travel to Indianapolis to resume conference play against Marian College on Tuesday, January 4, at 7:00 p.m.
