Caldwell, Sincler named Forester Athletes of the Week

Huntington, Ind.— The Huntington College athletic department  announced its Athletes of the Week for the week of September 13-19, 2004. Sophomore Seth Caldwell and junior Mindy Sincler earned the honors for their outstanding efforts during the week’s soccer competitions.

Seth Caldwell, a sophomore from Mansfield, Ohio (Mansfield Christian High School), played a big role in Huntington’s 5-2 win over Manchester College this week.  He scored a goal and dished out two assists to help the Foresters move above the .500 mark at 4-3 for the first time this season.  Caldwell has tallied two goals and seven assists on the season.  The men next travel to the University of St. Francis on Saturday, September 25 at 3:30 p.m.

 

 


Mindy Sincler

Mindy Sincler, a Math Education major from Kalamazoo, Michigan (Kalamazoo Central High School), helped lead the Forester soccer team to a 2-0 record last week. In the Foresters’ 2-1 win over Anderson University, Sincler scored the game winner on a direct free kick before the Raven defense was set.  In their 5-1 victory over Hanover College, she assisted Sarah Kaufman on Huntington’s first goal of the game and scored a goal of her own in the second half on another free kick from 25 yards.  The Foresters are currently 3-3 on the season and begin conference play this week when they host Spring Arbor University on Tuesday, September 21 at 4:00 p.m.

The Huntington College Foresters compete in 14 intercollegiate sports for men and women. In the past seven years, Huntington has produced 49 NAIA All-American honors and 91 All-American Scholar Athlete honors.
