Seniors honored at Forester Night
FOR RELEASE May 6, 2005
HUNTINGTON, IN—The 34th Annual Forester Night was held Tuesday,
May 3, in the Zurcher Auditorium of the Huntington College Merillat Centre
for the Arts. Foresters of the Year, the Alpha Chi Award, and the
Outstanding Senior Awards from various academic departments were all awarded
to several Huntington College graduating seniors. Foresters of the Year are
voted on by the Huntington College student body.
Kristyn Bollig, a psychology major from Anoka, Minn., was named Female
Forester of the Year. Dwight Simon, a senior history major from Roanoke,
Ind., was named Male Forester of the Year. Simon also received the
prestigious Alpha Chi Award, given to an outstanding senior in the Huntington
College Alpha Chi Honor Society and voted on by fellow Alpha Chi members.
For the Outstanding Senior Awards, faculty voted to select one Outstanding
Senior from their respective departments and then presented a plaque to the
individual on Forester Night. Departmental recipients included:
- Joanna Shenk, a
communication studies major from Goshen, Ind.
- Heather Radde, an English
education major from Stevensville, Mich.
- Joni Michaud, a history
major from Clarksville, Mich.
- Amber Hirschy, a business
management major from Huntington, Ind.
- Jodi Frantz, a psychology
major from South Whitley, Ind.
- Rebecca Laumbattus, a
sociology major from Marissa, Ill.
- Dustin Smith, a
mathematics major from Rensselaer, Ind.
- Victoria Hall, a
chemistry major from Grand Rapids, Mich.
- Anna Geivett, a
recreation management major from Iona, Mich.
- Nicole Woods, a fine arts
major from Greenville, Ohio
- Christina Watson, a music
choral education major from Chambersburg, Pa.
- Kathy Chilcoat, a theatre
design and technology major from Columbus, Ohio
- Jennifer Amstutz, an
elementary education major from Geneva, Ind.
- Keith Elliot, a Bible and
religion biblical studies major from Greencastle, Pa.
- Richard Strick, a cross
cultural ministries major from Hillsdale, Mich.
Huntington College is a comprehensive
Christian college of the liberal arts offering graduate and
undergraduate programs in more than 70 academic concentrations. Following a
decade of growth and development, Huntington College will become Huntington
University in mid-2005.
