Art students earn top honors at juried exhibit
FOR RELEASE March 15, 2005 Rachel Rhine, a senior graphic design major from Burlington, Ind., received the “Wilson Purchase Award” for her computer illustration, “Grasping Direction.” The piece will now become property of Huntington College Robert E. Wilson Gallery. “Best of Show” was awarded to Sarah Clifford, a junior fine arts major from Russell, Pa., for her oil canvas painting, “Still Life.” Ben Hopper, a freshman graphic design major from Huntington, Ind., won first place overall with his wire design, “Range Wire.” Second place overall went to Nuria Bagley, a senior graphic designer major from Huntington, Ind., for her graphic design, “Hutton Ad #1.” Kala Parthemore, a senior art education major from Columbus Grove, Ohio, won third place overall with her computer illustration, “Psalm 23.” The following students earned Outstanding Achievement in specific divisions:
The exhibit is showcased through April 9, 2005, in the Robert E. Wilson Gallery located in the Merillat Centre for the Arts at Huntington College. The gallery is open to the public Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., and before all Merillat Centre for the Arts performances. Admission is free.
