FOR RELEASE March 31, 2005

The O.C. Supertones

HUNTINGTON, IN—Ten years, seven albums and millions of fans later, the renowned rock, ska band, O.C. Supertones, bids farewell in 2005. Under the sponsorship of the FUSE (105.5 FM WQHC), the Huntington College student radio station, The Supertones will bring their horn driven rock and roll to The Chapel in Fort Wayne on Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at 7:00 p.m.

“This is our first sponsored concert for the station, and we are excited to offer this outreach to the youth of the community,” said Dr. Lance Clark, assistant professor of communications at Huntington College.

WQHC is an educational radio and internet outlet that seeks to provide students with an opportunity to sharpen their skills through the mass medium of radio. WQHC serves the Huntington College campus, community, and internet listeners around the world by providing music and content as salt and light for the glory of Jesus Christ.

With more than one million album sales to its credit, the O.C. Supertones are one of contemporary Christian music’s leading rock bands. The group has acquired two rock radio hits, played 19 concert tours, and performed at such high-profile events as World Youth Day with Pope John Paul II as well as numerous Billy Graham Crusades. Media appearances include MTV’s “120 Minutes,” CNN “Headline News” and the cover of national touring magazine, Pollstar.

Matt Morginsky, front man for the O.C. Supertones and one of its founders, stated, “It’s both difficult and sad to say goodbye to something you have been a part of since you were 15. I hope that this band leaves behind more than what numbers can indicate. Our goal was and still is to glorify God and to edify His people.”

The Supertones will perform with special guests, The Wedding. Recently signed to Rambler Records, a division of BHT Entertainment, The Wedding’s debut album is slated for release this spring. The group has opened for numerous bands, including Bleach, John Rueban, Spoken, and Bachman Turner Overdrive (B.T.O.).

The Chapel is located at 2505 N. Hamilton Rd. Tickets are available in advance for $10 (or $8 for groups of 10 or more) at the Anchor Room bookstore in Fort Wayne.
