O’Donnell’s second book offers
“hope to exhausted strivers”

HUNTINGTON, IN— Walking with Arthur, the follow-up book to James O’Donnell’s successful Letters for Lizzie, has been published by Northfield/Moody Publishing, Chicago. The book is O’Donnell’s spiritual memoir – an honest sharing of his struggles during his mid-30’s that included the death of his father, a significant pay cut, a son who talked of suicide, and thoughts of divorce. Not until a neighbor named Arthur entered his life did O’Donnell’s thoughts transform him into a man a deep convictions and great thoughtfulness.

While reaping the benefits of his executive position in the money management business, O’Donnell still felt that, “I was someone who desperately wanted something to fill up my unfathomable emptiness.”

Walking with Arthur details O’Donnell’s journey from his questions about life to answers found in the midst of his unexpected friendship with a fellow commuter. It is through this relationship, according to a recent review in Publisher’s Weekly, that “O'Donnell's goals and lifestyle were transformed…(the book) offers gentle wisdom and hope to exhausted strivers.”

Walking with Arthur is currently available through the Huntington College Bookstore and online booksellers. It will soon be available in bookstores nationwide. More information is available at the official website, www.lettersforlizzie.com. A book signing at the Huntington College Bookstore is scheduled for March 1. Details will be forthcoming.

O’Donnell, Huntington College’s associate professor of business and economics, as well as executive-in-residence, received his undergraduate degree from Brown University and his MBA from Columbia University. He is a certified public accountant and spent many years as an executive in the financial services industry with such firms as Fidelity Investments and the Dreyfus Corporation in Boston and New York, respectively.
