Tim Zimmerman & the King's Brass

HUNTINGTON, IN—Tim Zimmerman & the King’s Brass, known nationally for their blend of hymn classics with contemporary flair, will perform at Huntington College on Friday, March 4 at 7:30 p.m., in the Zurcher Auditorium of the Merillat Centre for the Arts.  Admission is $10 with students and seniors receiving a $2 discount. To reserve tickets contact the Merillat Centre for the Arts Box Office at (260) 359-4261.  The performance is underwritten by The Rocky and Carol Strickler Endowment.

The King’s Brass features three trumpets, three trombones, a tuba, percussion and keyboards.  Together these instruments create a time of innovative worship enjoyed by all generations.  Their music is praised by both secular and sacred music critics as “superb in every way” and as “truly an unforgettable experience.” 

The King’s Brass, formed over two decades ago, is comprised of professional Christian musicians from across the nation who desire to use the instruments they love to lead others in praise and worship.   Performing over one hundred concerts each season, the King’s Brass plays a wide variety of music from Gabrieli to hymn classics, from Handel to jazz spirituals, from Christmas carols to patriotic marches.

Tim Zimmerman, director of the King’s Brass and a trumpet solo artist, received his graduate degree from the Peabody Conservatory of Music of John Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md.  He has been a member of the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra and often assists with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic.  For 13 years, Tim has served as Artist-in-Residence and Chairman of the Music Department at Grace College in Winona Lake, Ind.
