FOR RELEASE December 6, 2005
Huntington, Ind.—Seven Huntington University fall sport athletes recently
earned the highest academic honor awarded to an individual within his or her
respective sport. The National Association of Intercollegiate
Athletics awards the All-America Scholar Athlete to juniors and seniors who display
excellent achievement in the classroom along with outstanding skill on the
playing field. For the 2005-2006 fall season, seven Forester soccer players
earned the prestigious honor. Those individuals
included:
WOMEN’S SOCCER

Robyn Althoff, goalkeeper and junior elementary special education
major from Stevensville, Mich.
-
Joy
Bamford, forward and senior psychology major from Cape Elizabeth,
Maine.

Kara
Fultz, midfielder and senior biology education major from Angola, Ind.
-
Ashley Gonterman, defender and senior physical education major
from Roanoke, Ind.
-
Hannah Kaufman,
defender and junior biology major from Ada, Mich.
-
Christi Shook,
defender and senior not-for-profit business major from Franklin, Ind.
MEN’S SOCCER

Andrew Hulfish,
midfielder and senior elementary special education major from
Haddonfield, N.J.
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 14 intercollegiate sports for men
and women. In the past seven years, Huntington has produced 50 NAIA
All-America honors and 99 All-America Scholar Athlete honors.
