Malfait, Sanders named Huntington's Athletes of Week FOR RELEASE October 30, 2006 HUNTINGTON, IN—The Huntington University Athletic Department announced its Athletes of the Week for the week of Oct. 23-29. Women’s volleyball senior Tiffany Malfait and men’s soccer junior Joel Sanders earned the honors for their outstanding efforts during the week’s competitions. Tiffany Malfait, a physical education major from Woodburn, Ind. (Woodlan High School), helped lead Huntington to a 3-1 record for the week. She was a steady offensive contributor with 31 kills during the week and was a defensive force at the net with 19 blocks, including a season-high 10 against Anderson University. The Foresters (25-12) will travel to Grace College for their final regular season match on Oct. 31 at 7 p.m. Joel Sanders, an elementary education major from Fort Wayne, Ind. (Snider High School), helped lead the Foresters to a 4-2 victory over Moody Bible Institute in their final match of the season. He netted Huntington’s first goal of the game and assisted on tow other scores. Sanders finished the season as the Foresters’ leading scorer with 10 goals and seven assists for the year.
