Berry, Kock earn Forester Athlete of Week honors

Huntington, Ind.—The Huntington University Athletic Department announced its Athletes of the Week for the week of Nov. 6-12. Women’s basketball senior Amy Berry and men’s basketball senior Alex Kock earned the honors for their outstanding efforts during the week’s competitions.

Amy Berry, a public relations major from Marion, Ind. (Oak Hill High School), helped lead the Foresters to two wins in their first week of play. Berry took game-high scoring honors in all three games during the week averaging 18.7 points per game. She also went 18-18 from the line for the three games and was named the Huntington University AmeriHost Tournament MVP. The Foresters (2-1) return to action on Nov. 14 when they travel to Grand Rapids, Mich., to take on the NAIA No. 14-ranked Saints of Aquinas College at 7 p.m.

Alex Kock

Alex Kock, a physical education and health major from Auburn, Ind. (DeKalb  High School), averaged a double-double of 28 points and 12 rebounds to help lead Huntington to a 2-1 start on the season. Kock scored 26 points and grabbed 12 boards in a season opening loss to IPFW. In the Foresters 94-88 win over Indiana Tech, he dropped in 29 points and had 13 rebounds and he finished with 29 points and 11 rebounds in Huntington’s 88-76 victory over St. Ambrose University. Huntington will next take on Shawnee State University in their home opener on Nov. 14 at 7 p.m.
