Vocal performance major to give senior recital

FOR RELEASE October 11, 2006

Dana Frick

HUNTINGTON, IN—Huntington University’s Dana Frick, a vocal performance major from Kendallville, Ind., will perform her senior recital at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 27. The event will be held in the Longaker Recital Hall of the Merillat Centre for the Arts on the university’s campus.

Throughout the past four years, Frick has been given many opportunities on the stage. She played Ruth in “The Pirates of Penzance,” Miss Todd in the one-act opera, “The Old Maid and the Thief,” Hansel in “Hansel and Gretel,” and Bev in the one-act play “Graceland.”

She was the featured alto soloist in Huntington community’s production of Handel’s “Messiah” in December 2005.  Most recently she displayed her talents in the ensemble of “Shakesperience!”

Frick also has been involved in many music ensembles at the university including the concert choir, the women’s chorale and Preeminence.  In the summer of 2006, she toured with the Huntington University Theatre Company in the show “Godspell” as the music director and as a member of the ensemble.

Her future plans include attending graduate school in New York and putting her ambitions and God-given dreams into practice. Frick studied voice with Dr. John Thompson, assistant professor of applied voice & opera workshop, and Amy Prickett, adjunct faculty member. She currently studies with Joni Killian of Huntington, Ind.

The concert is free and open to the public.
